DAT LIVESTREAM!.. wow, so many button-checks... mind=blown
I was inspired to draw this in the meantime while I was waiting between matches in the 'what-seems-like' tournament at the Canterlot Gardens livestream.
I learned much more this time around with adding more traditional detail so I have less to fiddle and edit around digitally.. proven fact- it saves me SOOO MUCH TIME!
First off, let me point out the positives. The pony itself isn't to overly-done like a lot of pony OCs, only having a couple accessories and being dual-colored. That's always a plus.
As for the artwork itself, this has great potential... but the excess white/mismatching pixels makes the whole image less 'clean.' A little more time taken to line the image in a digital program before coloring wouldn't have hurt. The "shadow" under the pony also seems a bit like a blob without any real shape. Is it supposed to be a shadow? The floor your pony is walking on?
The background is nice. All those little hexagons[?] are quite neat to look at, as well as the green splatter. The splatter gives the image a lovely effect and complements the pony itself well. The way the name "Razor Bass" is shaded also looks lovely. The type of bubble letters used even more so.
All in all, if a little more time was taken to remove those misplaced pixels and fix up the "shadow" this would look much better. But the idea of the image, "vision", is lovely. The shading is done well and in a lovely style, one that I could easily match with a music or fast-paced character. Keep up the good work, and don't let a couple of mistakes discourage you.
Well, that one definitely has style in it = ) Good work! I suggest adding more details to the eyes next time. Also far hind leg's thigh (is it even called like that?) is sharper than it should be, in my opinion. But again, the whole thing is good = D
